Once again, Lincoln Kienholz joins a very select company among Pierre athletes.
On Tuesday, Lincoln Kienholz was named to the South Dakota High School Basketball Coaches Association AA All-State First Team.
This is the third straight year that Kienholz has been named an All-State player. He was also on the first team in 2022 and on the second team in 2021.
Kienholz is the sixth Pierre boys basketball player to earn three all-state selections, joining Troy Schaefer, Michael Tveidt, Zach Hanson, Lane Severyn and Brevin Kaiser.
Kienholz averaged 18.2 points per game, with 5.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.9 steals. He also blocked eight shots.
He is Pierre’s second all-time leading scorer with 1,464 points, 22 behind Severyn. His 141 career three-pointers are third in program history.
Pierre finished 16-8 in 2022-23 and finished fifth at the AA state tournament, the Governors’ first state appearance since 2017.
