SEPTEMBER 28, 2023:
A water use restriction that’s been in effect in Fort Pierre this week will most likely be lifted yet today (Sept. 28, 2023).
Mayor Gloria Hanson says the Bureau of Reclamation and Mni Wiconi are fixing another spot on their main trunk line that serves Fort Pierre and other communities.
Hanson thanks Fort Pierre water customers for diligently responding to the request to limit water use.
Until the watering restriction is lifted, Fort Pierre is using water from its storage supply.
SEPTEMBER 25, 2023:
A water restriction goes into effect in Fort Pierre at 7pm CT today (Sept. 25, 2023).
The Bureau of Reclamation and Mni Wiconi will be fixing another leak in their main trunk line that serves Fort Pierre and other communities.
The water will be shut off to Fort Pierre and the town will be using water from the storage supply. This restriction is put in place to minimize issues with water supply during this time, including fire protection.
The water restriction in Fort Pierre is scheduled to remain in effect until midnight Thursday night.

SEPTEMBER 21, 2023:
The City of Fort Pierre has lifted its water restriction for all system users (Sept. 21, 2023), but a new restriction will go into effect Monday (Sept. 25, 2023).
The Bureau of Reclamation and Mni Wiconi repaired the water leak in their main trunk line that serves Fort Pierre and other communities. However, another leak was discovered.
Starting Monday at 7pm CT a new water restriction will go into effect until Thursday at midnight. The water will be shut off to Fort Pierre and the town will be using water from the storage supply. This restriction is put in place to minimize issues with supply during this time, including fire protection.
SEPTEMBER 19, 2023:
A water restriction is in effect for all Fort Pierre city water customers through the end of the week (Sept. 22, 2023, at midnight).
Public Works Director Rick Hahn says the Bureau of Reclamation and Mni Wiconi will be repairing a water leak in their trunk line that serves the City of Fort Pierre and other communities.
Hahn says while the repairs are being done, the water will be shut off to Fort Pierre and the town will be using water from the storage supply. He says customers should limit unnecessary water usage and NO LAWN WATERING is allowed until the restriction is lifted. This restriction is put in place to minimize issues with water supply and fire protection during this time.

A water restriction is in effect for all Fort Pierre city water customers beginning at 7pm CT today (Sept. 18, 2023). The restriction remains in effect until Friday at midnight.
