Pierre increases city street maintenance, solid waste disposal fees

The Pierre City Commission has approved increases to the town’s street maintenance fee and some solid waste fees.

Effective Jan. 1, 2024, the Street Maintenance Fee will increase from $1 to $2 per foot of property frontage. A variety of increases were also approved for solid waste services including the price of city trash bags, as well as recycling and disposal fees.

Twila Hoffrogge, City Finance Director, says that the increases were all discussed by the Commission during the 2024 budget meetings.
