The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department is holding a “First Catch” activity Friday (May 24, 2024) from 4:30-7:30pm at Milt’s Pond near the Cow Creek Recreation Area north of Pierre.
Shala Larson with GFP says “First Catch” is a Department initiative that provides fishing equipment and instruction for anglers of all ages.
With both being brand new, Chris Hull with GFP says “First Catch” and Milt’s Pond are a perfect match.
Larson says GFP will be hosting “First Catch” events around the state this summer.
Larson and Hull say “First Catch” is a great opportunity for new anglers to get out, catch fish and learn how to be a better fisherperson. Again, all equipment is provided.
