PIERRE – Mitchell, the 2022 runner-up, leads by seven shots after the first 18 holes of the SDHSAA AA Girls Golf Championship at Hillsview Golf Course.
The Kernels are led by Allison Meyerink, the only one of the 80 competitors to shoot under par Monday with a two-under 70.
Aberdeen Central is in second, seven shots behind. Rapid City Stevens is four further back in third, with Watertown fourth and O’Gorman fifth.
Pierre stands eighth at +64. Madilyn Brakke had the Governors’ best individual round, tying for 18th with a nine-over 81.
