PIERRE – The format for state wrestling tournaments is undergoing another change.
Last Thursday, the SDHSAA Board of Directors voted to separate the duals tournament from the individual state tournament, which has grown due to the addition of girls wrestling.
The dual tournament in 2024 will be held on Saturday, February 10, two weeks before the individual tournament.
SDHSAA Executive Director Dan Swartos said that athletic directors were hesitant to move the girls individual tournament to a separate weekend.
