Pierre volunteer firefighters present annual awards, elect 2024 officers

The Pierre Volunteer Fire Department held its annual awards banquet Friday night (Dec. 1, 2023).

This year’s award winners were:

Rookie of the Year – Brody Maier
Firefighter of the Year – Trevor Lightfield
Don Marso Award for overall firefighting career accomplishments– AJ Rounds

Elections were also conducted for officers in 2024. Sean Kruger was reelected Deputy Chief and Brandon McCarthy was reelected Assistant Chief. Zach Merrill was elected Secretary and Paula Tronvold was elected Treasurer.
