The Oahe Zap finished up the regular season on a high note in Spearfish, mounting a comeback put together thanks to an eight-run inning. The Zap have been living on the edge lately after coming from behind to beat the Bison in their last home game this year in a 4-3 win on Wednesday. Tonight, their final game of the regular season saw a few more theatrics, but a similar outcome.
The Zap trailed 7-3 going into the seventh before Ty Farwell led an eight spot with a two-run homerun and a single in the inning. Cy Taylor also had a hand in the big frame with an RBI single.
The Sasquatch would not go quietly as they were able to chip away at the four-run deficit and tie the game at 11 apiece.
A 4-5 night from Connor Goldberg would prove to be the difference as he would drive in four runs and help boost the Zap to a four run tenth inning for the win.
Goldberg and Farwell led the charge for the Zap offensively who hung 20 hits on the Sasquatch pitching staff. Goldberg has been arguably the best hitter in the ILB as he has cranked his batting average to an astounding .396 after his wild tear through July.
The Zap will now head to Casper next week for the playoff series with the Spuds. The winner of that series will go back to Spearfish to play the Sasquatch for the Championship.
