VERMILLION – South Dakota center Hannah Sjerven has been named the Summit League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season and fourth time in her career. Sjerven also was named the College Sports Madness National Mid-Major Player of the Week.
In a weekend sweep of Denver to open Summit League play, Sjerven averaged 24 points and 9 ½ rebounds, reaching USD’s 1000-point club.
Sjerven is seventh in the country in blocks (23), 10th in field goal percentage (66.3%), 20th in rebounds (87) and 20th in points (172). She is the Summit League leader in those categories.
