BROOKINGS – South Dakota State Women’s Basketball earned their seventh regular-season conference title Friday, clinching the Summit League regular-season championship with a 73-53 win over Kansas City at Frost Arena.
Paiton Burckhard and Tylee Irwin each scored 19 for the Jackrabbits, who now have 20 straight seasons with at least 20 wins.

A career-high 17 points by Luke Appel led the SDSU men to a 67-49 home win over Kansas City on Friday.
Matt Dentlinger scored 13.
The Jackrabbits still have a mathematical chance to win the Summit League regular-season title. They are 8-3 with one game remaining.
Both SDSU teams will again host Kansas City Saturday to close the regular season at Frost Arena.
