VERMILLION – South Dakota Men’s Basketball stopped North Dakota State Saturday 80-71 at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center to move within one win of the Summit League regular-season title.
Stanley Umude scored 26 as all five USD starters scored in double figures.
The Coyotes are 11-3 in the Summit League. A win over NDSU Sunday would give USD the top seed in the conference tournament. A loss would make the Coyotes the second seed and South Dakota State the number-one seed.

Hannah Sjerven hit a free throw with 0.2 remaining Saturday to edge South Dakota Women’s Basketball past NDSU 82-81.
Sully Buttes alum Chloe Lamb led USD with 22 points.
The Coyotes have now won 30 straight conference games at home to tie a record. They will again host the Bison Sunday.
