PORT CHARLOTTE, FL – Jose Berríos was effective in his second start of spring training Wednesday as the Minnesota Twins topped the Tampa Bay Rays 6-2 at Charlotte Sports Park.
Berríos pitched three scoreless innings, allowing only one hit and striking out four batters.
Rob Refsnyder hit a two-run triple in a three-run second for Minnesota (5-4). Willians Astudillo drove in two runs with a seventh-inning single.
Matt Shoemaker is expected to start Thursday when the Twins face the Red Sox at Hammonds Stadium in Fort Myers.
