SIOUX FALLS – Tyler Prins scored 27 points with five three-pointers Saturday as Sioux Falls Christian won its second championship, 84-50 over Sioux Valley in the title game of the SDHSAA Boys Basketball Class A State Tournament at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
Prins also had seven assists and three steals for the Chargers (20-5). Xavier Van Beek scored 17 points and Brooks Nelson had 13. Sioux Falls Christian also won the Class A title in 2016.
Oliver Vincent scored 22 for Sioux Valley (23-2).
3rd Place: Dakota Valley 69, Dell Rapids 60
The Bruns brothers starred again for the Panthers (23-3). Paul Bruns poured in 37 points with 17 rebounds. Isaac Bruns scored 19 with 11 rebounds. Collin Rentz hit for 29 points and five three-pointers for the Quarriers (17-8).
5th Place: St. Thomas More 62, Chamberlain 49
Caleb Hollenbeck and Cade Kandolin combined for 33 points to lead the Cavaliers (21-4). Hollenbeck scored 17, with Kandolin notching 16. Drayton Priebe scored 15 and Sellyck McManus had 14 for Chamberlain (18-6).
7th Place: Vermillion 78, Winner 49
Jakob Dobney scored 20 as all five starters ended with double figures for the Tanagers (23-2). Brady Fritz had 18 points for Winner (20-5).
