VERMILLION – South Dakota senior center Hannah Sjerven confirmed Monday that she will return to play for the Coyotes in 2021-22. The NCAA gave players the option of taking an extra year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sjerven averaged over 17 points and 10 rebounds per game this past season as the Coyotes won their second consecutive Summit League tournament championship and made the NCAA Tournament for the third straight season.
Sjerven is the third USD senior to confirm that she will return, joining Sully Buttes alum Chloe Lamb and Liv Korngable.
