(KELO.com Radio)— The Centers for Disease Control has released a new report on the coronavirus outbreak at the Smithfield Plant in Sioux Falls that shows just how fast the disease can spread.
The report shows that in just five weeks, one COVID-19 case at the meatpacking plant multiplied into more than 900 cases. The report also indicates that there were more total cases at the plant than originally made public. 929 employees had the disease or more than 25 percent of the workforce. The previous total cases announced was only 853.
The Smithfield plant was one of the nation’s hottest COVID-19 hotspots back in April.
