MINNEAPOLIS – Jaylen Nowell scored 22 off the bench in just 13 minutes in the Minnesota Timberwolves’ preseason opener, a 107-105 loss to Memphis Saturday at Target Center.
Nowell, a second-year player trying to earn a backup guard spot, was 7-of-11 shooting and hit four three-pointers. D’Angelo Russell scored 14 and Karl Anthony-Towns added 13.
The Timberwolves will again host the Grizzlies Monday.
