NORMAN, OK – A comeback for South Dakota women’s basketball fell short Sunday in an 80-73 loss on the road to Oklahoma. The Coyotes were down by as many as 17 in the third quarter before rallying to within three points, but a 15-5 run by the Sooners helped finally decide the game.
Sully Buttes alum Chloe Lamb led USD with 23 points, hitting four three-pointers. Morgan Hansen scored 17 and Hannah Sjerven scored 15 with seven rebounds and three blocks.
South Dakota will open Summit League play January 2 against Denver in Vermillion.

VERMILLION – Stanley Umude scored 21 Sunday as South Dakota men’s basketball finished its non-conference schedule with an 84-44 win over Mount Marty at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
A.J. Plitzuweit had 13 for the Coyotes (2-6) and Mason Archambault scored 11.
USD will host Denver in the Summit League opener in Vermillion on January 2.
