NEW ORLEANS – Any slim hopes the Minnesota Vikings still had of making the playoffs were wiped cleanly away in a Christmas Day loss at New Orleans, 52-33. While the offense was able to put points on the board, the defense surrendered a ridiculous 583 yards of total offense and seven rushing touchdowns to the Saints. Six of those scores were registered by Alvin Kamara in an NFL record-tying effort. Defensive minded head coach Mike Zimmer admitted he’s working with the worst defense he’s ever had, indicating the obvious need as the Vikings will now look to make improvements for next season. Minnesota will end their regular season at Detroit on Sunday with a 12:00 kickoff, pregame at 11:00 on 94.5 KPLO and 100.7 KMLO-FM.
