BROOKINGS – The SDSU men’s basketball team is in the middle of a long holiday layoff. They haven’t played a game since a loss to USD on Dec. 12, and they weren’t scheduled to begin Summit League play until Jan. 8. But the layoff will now end a little sooner than originally planned, as the Jacks have added a game with Mount Marty to the schedule. The Lancers will make the trip to Brookings on Monday for a 6:00 tipoff at Frost Arena. SDSU is 5-3 so far on the season, and while they have played six of their eight games close to home at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, this will be their first actual home game of the season. The Jacks will also host Western Illinois next Friday and Saturday to begin their conference schedule. Mount Marty is off to a 7-7 start to their season as they prepare for a game at Briar Cliff on Saturday before Monday’s trip to Brookings.
