MACOMB, IL – Sully Buttes alum Chloe Lamb scored 25 points Friday as South Dakota women’s basketball remained unbeaten in Summit League play with a 73-56 win over Western Illinois.
Lamb scored 10 straight points during a 17-1 run in the third quarter that gave USD (9-3, 5-0) a comfortable lead. Lamb had her 11th 20-point game as a Coyote and had five rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot. Maddie Krull scored 15, with Liv Korngable and Hannah Sjerven both tallying 11. South Dakota now has 23 straight regular-season Summit League wins.
The USD men held off Western Illinois 65-60. Tasos Kamateros tied his career high with 15 points. Xavier Fuller scored 14 and A.J. Plitzuweit had 13. South Dakota (7-6, 5-0) had only four points from Stanley Umude, who averaged 21 points per game beforehand.
Both Coyote teams will again play at Western Illinois on Saturday.
