BROOKINGS – 23rd-ranked South Dakota State controlled South Dakota in women’s basketball Friday at Frost Arena, 64-45.
It was the 11th straight win for SDSU (14-2, 7-0) and ended the 24-game Summit League winning streak for USD (10-4, 6-1). This was the Coyotes’ largest margin of defeat since 2017.
Myah Selland scored 17 for the Jackrabbits and had a career-high nine assists. Hannah Sjerven led the Coyotes with 10.

South Dakota men won at Frost Arena for the first time since the 1999-2000 season, staying undefeated in Summit League play with a 64-56 win over South Dakota State.
USD (11-6, 9-0) was led by 19 points from A.J. Plitzuweit. Baylor Scheierman had 15 points and 16 rebounds for SDSU (10-4, 4-1), whose 29-game home winning streak was snapped.
The Coyotes and Jackrabbits will again play a doubleheader at Frost Arena on Saturday.
