BROOKINGS – South Dakota State Women’s Basketball completed its first unbeaten season in Summit League play Saturday with a 72-66 win over Kansas City at Frost Arena.
Paiton Burckhard scored a season-high 24 to lead the Jacks. Tylee Irwin scored 17.
SDSU was 14-0 in the Summit League, has an 18-game winning streak, an overall record of 21-2 and is the top seed for the Summit League Women’s Championship, which will begin Saturday at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls. The Jackrabbits will play eighth seed Omaha Saturday at 11:45 AM.

The SDSU men ended the regular season with a record-setting 89-77 win Saturday over Kansas City.
The Jacks shot a school record 73.5 percent from the floor, making 25 of 34 shots.
Douglas Wilson led five SDSU players in double figures with 20 points. Baylor Scheierman, Luke Appel and Matt Dentlinger tallied 16 each.
The Jackrabbits finished the regular season 9-3 in the Summit League. Sunday’s North Dakota State win South Dakota gave SDSU its fourth consecutive Summit League regular season title. The Jacks will play eight-seed Omaha Saturday at 5:45 PM at the Sanford Pentagon.
