FORT MYERS, FL – Rain and a wet field led to the cancellation of the Minnesota Twins’ spring training game with the Boston Red Sox Saturday. Two innings had been played with the Twins leading 2-0 before managers Rocco Baldelli of the Twins and Alex Cora of the Red Sox agreed to stop play.
Michael Pineda started the game for the Twins and pitched two perfect innings, striking out four.
The Twins will host Tampa Bay at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers on Sunday.
