EVANSVILLE, IN – Black Hills State advanced to the Men’s NCAA Division II semifinal round for the second straight year Tuesday with a win over Minnesota Duluth, 86-68 in the Elite Eight at the Ford Center.
The Yellowjackets (29-5) trailed 12-5 early, then put together runs of 17-3 and 17-4 later in the first half, took a 45-32 halftime lead and were never threatened in the second half.
Matthew Ragsdale scored 25 for BHSU on 9-of-12 shooting and 5-of-7 on three-pointers. Division II player of the year Joel Scott scored 23. Black Hills State shot 53 percent from the field.
The Yellowjackets will play in a semifinal Thursday against West Liberty.
