SIOUX FALLS – In a dominating performance, Rapid City Christian won its first boys tennis team state championship Tuesday, winning by 160 ½ points at the SDHSAA Class A Boys Tennis Championship.
Rapid City Central scored 584 points. Lennox was second with 420 ½, followed by Sioux Falls Christian with 396 ½.
The Chargers won five of the six singles flights and all three of the doubles flights.
Andrew Dobbs won a singles state championship for the second straight year. He won in the #2 singles flight after winning in the #3 flight in 2022.
Other championship singles winners for Rapid City Christian were Joe Schneller (#3), Jack Hancock (#4), Noah Geyer (#5) and Henry Beckloff (#6). The #1 singles flight championship was won by Jaxon Plank of Lennox, who defeated 2022 champion Noah Greni of Rapid City Central.
Rapid City Christian’s doubles winners were Greni/Dobbs (#1), Schneller/Hancock (#2) and Geyer/Beckloff (#3). Dobbs and Hancock won the #2 flight doubles championship last year.
