SIOUX FALLS – It’s nine and counting for the Lincoln Patriots.
Sioux Falls Lincoln easily won its ninth consecutive championship and 21st in school history Friday at the SDHSAA Class AA Boys Tennis Championships.
Lincoln won five of the six singles flights and all three doubles flights, amassing 588 ½ points, 179 more than runner-up O’Gorman. Harrisburg finished third by a point over Sioux Falls Washington.
Rocky McKenzie repeated as a single champion, winning in the #1 flight after winning in 2022 in the #2 flight. River McKenzie also pulled off a repeat win winning the #3 singles flight. He won in the #4 flight last year.
Other winners for Lincoln were Drew Gohl (#2 singles), Christopher Tao (#5 singles), Jacob Husser (#6 singles), Ro. McKenzie/Gohl (#1 doubles), Ri. McKenzie/Arthur Tao (#2 doubles) and C. Tao/Husser (#3 singles).
Liam Sarmiento of O’Gorman won the #4 singles flight championship to prevent a complete sweep by Lincoln.
