ST. LOUIS, MO – Defending FCS national champion South Dakota State is the overwhelming favorite to repeat as Missouri Valley Football Conference champion, and the Jackrabbits also have a league-best 20 players on preseason all-conference teams.
SDSU received 44 of the 45 first-place votes in the poll of coaches, sports information personnel and select members of the media.
10 starters return on offense for the Jackrabbits, and six of them were first-team selections. Eight players total from SDSU were named to the first team.
South Dakota was picked ninth in the preseason poll. Eight Coyote players were named to the preseason All-MVFC team, including four to the first team.
