Lower enrollment in the Pierre School District prompting officials to begin budget conversations

Enrollment in the Pierre School District was lower than administrators had anticipated the past two years.

Superintendent Dr. Kelly Glodt says lower student numbers have an impact on the district’s budget.

Glodt says there’s only a few things the school district can do with their budget to counteract the lower enrollment.

Glodt says the Pierre School Board has been diligent about passing the raises given by the state legislature on to staff for salaries.

Glodt shared the information during this week’s (Nov. 13, 2023) school board meeting.
