The Lyman Raiders have now posted two strong home performances to begin the 2026 season with another defensive outing in which they allowed single digits from their opponents. In week one, they doused New Underwood by a score of 41-6. Tonight, they followed it up with a 27-8 win over Corsica-Stickney.
The Raiders got on the board first when MJ Diehm found Cole Kieffer for a 10-yard touchdown score. They converted the two-point conversion to make it 8-0.
Diehm did it on the defensive side of the ball as well when he scooped a fumble and scored it from 40 yards out. The defense continued at the end of the first half when Lyman stonewalled Corsica-Stickney twice from the one-yard line to keep the game scoreless.
Diehm continued his dominant play with another score, this time to Canyon Garnos to complete a 6 play, 43-yard drive.
Corsica-Stickney found the scoreboard putting together a 75-yard scoring drive that saw Sawyer Schmidt find Max VandenHoek to cap off the 16-play sequence. However, Lyman would answer back and stave off a comeback attempt. The final score of the game came on a 48-yard Diehm to Kieffer connection as Lyman would cruise to the win.
Corsica-Stickney moves to 1-1 and will play Kimball-White Lake next week while Lyman looks to stay undefeated when they take on Sully Buttes.
